Today I’ve Integrated…

I HAVE THINGS, BUT THEY AREN’T REALLY MINE

Just because you have something doesn’t always mean you own it. We like to say we own things because it makes us feel in control. There is a sense of safety when we call something ours. But most of what we call our own isn’t really our possession to begin with.

It’s not your old house. Yes, its a house you used to live in, but you don’t live there anymore.

They aren’t your kids. Yes, you gave birth to them, but they have a purpose and a life to live beyond you.

He’s not your ex. Yes, he’s someone you previously dated, but he’s not yours anymore.

She’s not your lover. Yes, you hold a sacred place in your heart for her, but you don’t own her heart.

Once you release the idea of possession, suddenly there’s nothing to be afraid of losing because they were never yours to begin with.
